The CHIP Area Developer will successfully recruit employers to implement the Complete Health Improvement Program, using the strategy outlined in the Business Model for Customer Acquisition. This person will also provide support to those entities to ensure successful implementation of ongoing CHIP programs.
To effectively meet the goals of the position, the CHIP Area Developer must be passionate about improving people’s lives through the introduction of lifestyle intervention. The position requires a high achiever with strong sales and marketing experience. Other required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or higher education in communication, business, marketing or related degree/commensurable experience; strong relationship building skills; competence in Microsoft Word programs, specifically PowerPoint. AmeriCorps/COMCorps Service Members engage in direct service to the community through the coordination of Live Healthy Appalachia’s programs. This year LHA will host one AmeriCorps/COMCorps member as an Adult Education Coordinator. COMCorps is a 10.5 month service commitment, and the service year begins in August 2018. The Adult Education Coordinator will work to increase access to wellness programs and healthy living information for adults and families and Athens and Hocking Counties. The COMCorps member will coordinate programs like Cooking Coaches, My First 5K, and wellness programs at social service organizations which educate participants about wellness in a compassionate and straightforward manner, giving them the tools to make lasting changes which will have a positive effect on their health as well as the health of their families.
The ideal candidate for this position will be passionate about health and comfortable teaching adults in a classroom setting.
Live Healthy Appalachia's AmeriCorps VISTA member will engage in indirect service to the community through capacity building for several LHA programs. The VISTA member at Live Healthy Appalachia (LHA) will support the organization's mission to promote healthy eating and active living through educational programs and community partnerships. LHA's sub-site VISTA will work to increase the capacity of healthy living programs in Athens County and surrounding areas in Southeast Ohio. The VISTA will focus on the following goals during the service year: Develop new volunteer engagement opportunities focusing on underserved populations; recruit, train, and support volunteers for LHA programs; help build organizational capacity through grant writing, donor development, and implementation of a strategic plan; and assist with the marketing and promotion of LHA programs, events and initiatives that support its mission to improve the health and well-being of the region.
